On 22 November 2014, the students and staff of our school attended an interactive session with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama hosted by Springdales School, Pusa Road, in collaboration with N.P.S.C. A gathering of over 4000 participants including Principals, teachers and student leaders from leading schools across Delhi and NCR were invited to be a part of this historical day.
Dressed in his signature maroon-and-yellow monk's robes, the Dalai Lama seemed to enjoy interacting with his young audience which queried him on a variety of issues His Holiness shared his experiences and spoke about respecting all religions, equality amongst humans, values, sacrifice, forgiveness, calmness, compassion, education etc..
His Holiness, the Dalai Lama mesmerized the audience with his experiences and his innocent laughter. The students and teachers of our school gained invaluable wisdom from His Holiness. They learnt how to care for others, be compassionate, loving, and channelize their potential in a positive way for the development of our country.
In the 21st century, our vision should be on world issues, especially peace. Commenting on today’s education system, the spiritual leader said that education should have a universally acceptable curriculum for secular ethical values and hoped that it would be implemented in the years to come.
“India has a strong cultural heritage that is more than 1000 years old. It should be an example for others," said the great spiritual leader.
