Venkateshwar International School, Sector 10, Dwarka, organised ‘Empower’, a sensitising and engaging workshop for the parents of Class XII students on 19 September 2026. The session focused on decoding age-specific challenges and emotional regulation, with the objective of strengthening parents’ understanding of the emotional and developmental needs of adolescents.
The transition through senior school can be accompanied by academic pressure, career-related uncertainty, changing relationships, heightened expectations and emotional fluctuations. Keeping these concerns in perspective, the workshop provided parents with meaningful insights into understanding their children’s experiences and responding to challenging situations with greater awareness and sensitivity.
The session encouraged parents to look beyond immediate reactions and understand the emotions and needs underlying adolescent behaviour. It also highlighted the importance of healthy communication, emotional awareness and supportive parenting during this significant phase of a student’s life.
The interactive nature of the workshop provided parents with an opportunity to reflect upon their own parenting approaches and consider practical ways of creating a more supportive and emotionally responsive environment at home. The workshop was a meaningful step towards strengthening the school–parent partnership and reinforcing the shared responsibility of nurturing confident, emotionally aware and resilient young individuals.
The school looks forward to organising more such meaningful and need-based parent engagement initiatives in the future.
