With wings of passion and hopes as high as the sky itself, The Middle Wing of Venkateshwar International School, Sector-10, Dwarka organized its cultural spectacle - ‘PRAYAAS – An Endeavour’. The exhibition was a result of the incessant efforts by students of classes VI-VIII and had a boundless blend of colour, craft, cuisine, music and art. Honourable Chairman, Sh. Rajpal, the Director, Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura and the Headmistress - Middle Wing, Mrs. Meenakshi Malhotra, inaugurated the exhibition.
The students displayed a myriad of artifacts which included panoramic paintings, intriguing illusions, exquisitely decorated pots, photo frames, fluorescent flowers, funky jewellery, intricate embroidery, stitching patterns, vibrant tie-and-dye dupattas, appealing mats and innovative candle decorations. The ethnic mirrors and brightly embellished glass bottles, too, attracted many visitors.
The gala event commenced with the invocation to Goddess Saraswati, followed by dance performances presented by ornately dressed dancers which captivated the audience with a multitude of Indian and Western dance forms such as Laavni and Hip-Hop. The theatre club left the audience stupefied with its thought provoking street play on ‘Women Empowerment’. The breath-taking instrumental music created by waste and scrap such as tin cans, empty bottles and old wooden boxes left the audience spell-bound.
Food & Flavours Club served the parents with appetizing and scrumptious delicacies. The proceeds of the exhibition will be sent to the victims of the Nepal earthquake. The exhibition under the able guidance of the Headmistress- Senior Wing, Ms. Clementine Panikar, was a huge success and was appreciated by all.
