Anushka Bansal, a student of IX Rockview, has won the third prize in the Children's Category
(ages up to 14) in the 2017
International Essay Contest for young people. This contest was organised at
an International level by The Goi Peace Foundation, Japan, and endorsed by the
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan,
Japanese National Commission for UNESCO, Tokyo Metropolitan Board of
Education, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, Japan private High School Federation
and Nikkei Inc. This program is an
activity of the UNESCO Global Action Programme on for Sustainable
Development. Out of over 15,000 entries from 155 different countries, she is
the proud recipient of a certificate and gift acknowledging her flair for
creative writing. She is the only Indian to have won a prize in the
Children's Category with other prize winners being from countries like Bosnia,
Vietnam, Pakistan, New Zealand and Japan among others. She has been recognized
on an International platform for her 700
word essay on the topic 'Learning from Nature', adding another feather in
the VIS cap.
Anushka has a passion for
creative writing, owing to which, she runs a popular blog which has been viewed
by thousands of people worldwide. She
takes deep interest in poetry and one of her poems has been published on an
online international platform where it has been read by viewers and critics
from all over the world.
