Revered Director and Founder Principal, Ms. Mrinalini Kaura inaugurated Organica- an initiative of the Home Science, Entrepreneurship and Commerce Department, under the aegis of VIS , to promote  self employment and entrepreneurial skills, organic food and healthy living as well as the three Rs of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and be environment friendly.  

A range of products from pickles to jams and juices were on display and sale. 

The proceed of this humble beginning was donated to an NGO Vivekdeep.  This creative and productive initiative of the Vice Principal, Dr. Manisha Sharma was applauded by one and all.

    On December 21, 2018 the,  Joy of celebration filled the air during the special assembly for Christmas which was put up by the students of the Senior, Middle and Primary wings.  The programme started with a talk on the unique manner in which Christmas is celebrated the world over.  It was followed by the recitation of a self-composed poem by Vidisha Narula of Class XI Hilltop on the journey of God’s child on this earth.

    Dances and carols were sung in praise of the jubilation of the season.  The school ground was soaked in the spirit of Christmas cheer.

    Ms. Nishu Pandey, HM Middle wing motivated the students to show compassion and love, the essence of Christmas.

    The programmed culminated with the National Anthem.

      A magnificent Sports Day was put up by the students of classes III – V at Venkateshwar International School, Sec-10, Dwarka, a day filled with fervour and excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. The Chief Guest of the day, Ms. Meenakshi Pahuja, an International swimmer, declared the meet Open. Founder Principal and Director, Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura, welcomed the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. Various sports activities and races were conducted with mirth, verve and camaraderie in which more than 600 students participated. The pleasant weather and the joie-de-vivre of the students served as catalysts to the fun filled Sports Day.

      The students entered into the spirit of the occasion with a splendid March Past. Peppy dance drills like Hoopla, Fiesta of Colours, Flames and Zumba set the tone for the rest of the event. The little ones of class III stole everyone’s heart with a captivating Yoga performance. The Chief Guest gave a message to the students and parents to pursue their dreams with conviction and work hard till they succeed. The Headmistress, Primary Wing, Mrs. Anuradha Kumar, proposed the vote of thanks. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish.

          Pranjal Sachdeva and Arjun Sethi, students of class XI and members of the student council attended "Lead On", an event hosted by Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar for future leaders. The event saw participation of students from various schools all across Delhi NCR. It included various activities for strengthening team spirit, leadership qualities and other important skills each leader must possess. The highlight of the event were motivational speeches given by very successful and reknowned leaders of all times Mr. Subramaniam Swamy and Mr. Shatrughan Sinha.

                  "The best way to predict the future is to create it."

                  A career counseling session was organised in the school auditorium on 15 December 2018 for the parents of class X students. Winter months can be a difficult time for parents and students alike, all of whom are trying to resolve the dilemmas regarding their career choices. Ms. Jyotsana Bhardwaj, Director, Envision India Eduservices  the resource person, went beyond the pen and paper to conduct an insightful session for the parents. It was a highly informative session and everyone left the room equipped with the right knowledge to help their children make the right decisions.

                      On 3 December 2018,  the students of class XI attended an informative workshop on TOEFL- Test of English as a Foreign Language, conducted by Ms. Niharika Saxena and Mr. Abhishek Paul from Learning Links Foundation. TOEFL is an IBT (Internet Based Test) and is widely accepted by numerous international universities around the world. 

                      In the session, a detailed insight on the study content, format and evaluation process of the test was provided. It was quite educative for the learners who aspire to seek admission in foreign universities.

                        A group of 58 students and 4 teachers of Venkateshwar International School visited IRIS Science Fair at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt for an enriching experience about the wonders of science. It was an exhilarating and thrilling experience for the students as the exhibits whetted their curiosity about a variety of topics ranging from Gaussian Numbers in Mathematics to Cancer detection in Biology. A very wholesome experience in all.

                          ‘Technology can become the wings that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before’.

                          VIS has always been at the torchbearer of using technology to impart teachings and ethics to our young impressionable minds.  In keeping with this tradition, VIS educator, Ms. Meenu Kumar, PGT Computer Science bagged the first prize in Minimize persona at Microsoft Edudays Summit 2018 held on 4-5 December 2018. Around 120 educators from all over India showcased their projects. Ms. Meenu’s project on Cyber Security was well appreciated by judges as it was completely paperless thereby supporting the Digital India initiative. She used apps like Flipgird, Skype, Plikers, Popplet and OneNote to brainstorm and exchange ideas on Cyber Security with various students of schools across India.

                              Say No to Tobacco

                              An awareness was created on ’Say No To Tobacco’ for the general public through a street play today at Sector-10, Dwarka Metro station. The crowd watched the entire play enthusiastically and applauded the performance. One of the bystanders remarked “Even if this initiative brings 20% of the change, it can do wonders”.

                                  Commemorating the World Global Computer Security Day on December 1, 2018, Mr. Rakshit Tandon, Consultant, IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India) and Facebook, conducted the maiden session on ‘Cyber Security for Working Women’ in the school premises.

                                  Mr. Tandon provided immensely vital information to become cyberwise and stay guarded from becoming a victim of Cyber Crime.  He shared significant steps to secure oneself from any illegal actions which are quite rampant in the cyber world today.

                                  The session was extremely useful for the working women as they feel that a lot is there to be learnt in order to become technically sound.

                                  The audience’s queries in this regard were addressed.  It was truly an eye opener and left everyone enriched.  The VIS fraternity extends its gratitude to Mr. Tandon for  the wonderful session.
