A Battle Of Strength And Mettle Sports Day, an annual feature of the academic calendar, helps build sportsmanship and camaraderie in the students. It encourages the students to understand the importance of playing the game in the true spirit of it. Sports Day at VIS teaches – setting goals, being part of a team, confidence – that’s invaluable. It’s not about trophies and ribbons , it’s about BEING ON TIME for practices, ACCEPTING CHALLENGES and being fearful of the elements. It is important to taste defeat at times so that the win can be valued. The school glitters in the five house colours and competitors are lauded by the ever enthusiastic and encouraging spectators. It is a day when each and every student and teacher participates in some or the other competition and gives their best to uphold their house colour and flag. “Winners never quit and quitters never win. Sports do not build character they reveal it.”

Grandparents are popularly called as caregivers for the children in the family. They help the grandkids in their studies. In fact, they also help in their personal growth and development. Grandparents also inculcate moral values and good habits among their kids and grandkids. However, relationships between grandparents and grandchildren cannot be described in words. Do you know that we celebrate ‘National Grandparents Day’ on the 8th of September? Also, it is a secular holiday all over the world to honor the contributions of grandparents in our lives. The role of grandparents has become one of the most crucial in the family in which the children need emotional support apart from parenting.

Assemblies are an important feature of School's routine. They also form a significant part of the school's curriculum. They are a means to create a positive, reflective ethos and promote value-based education. They powerfully nurture the development of intrapersonal intelligence. India is a secular country. To give students an insight into the rich and varied cultural heritage of our country all religious festivals and special days are celebrated with fervor during Special Assemblies. Keeping in mind the vision and motto of the school these special assemblies are conducted to make the students aware of their duties and responsibilities as Indian citizens and are taught religious tolerance and respect for all cultures

India is a country that is rich in culture and heritage. It is the most diverse country in the entire world. However, unity among the citizens is a unique feature of this country. In a view to strengthen this unity, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi launched a nationwide programme on the occasion of National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Divas) called the “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” programme on 31st October 2015. This programme involves the mutual exchange of culture between the different states and Union Territories of India. Unity in diversity is not merely a slogan but demonstrates the country’s collective strength. It imbibes the concept of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat!’

Students are encouraged to widen their horizons through a variety of activities and outings and these are different in purpose and in length. Putting the best foot forward….. The holistic development of the pupils is given an impetus through participation of students in a number of in-house competitions. A pivotal role od education lies in shaping the personality of a child into an estute mind , healthy body and happy soul ; thus moulding him into an individual who is not only equipped with academic excellence, but also ready to face the challenges of life in a harmonious manner. Hence, numerous competitions are carried out round the year to channelize the enterprise and creativity of our students. These competitions are organised on the basis of classes, age groups and interests of the students so that maximum opportunity is given to every child whereby the children can showcase their talents.

“A Leader Is One Who Knows the Way, Goes the Way and Shows the Way” Leadership camp is an annual feature of the VIS calender in which the students fight it out the whole day to prove their mettle and exhibit leadership skills. IF YOUR ACTIONS INSPIRE OTHERS TO DREAM MORE, LEARN MORE, DO MORE AND BECOME MORE, YOU ARE A LEADER!

  • Student councils are a great way for students to take on leadership roles, promote the voice of the student body, solve problems and impact his or her community. Student councils are powerful leadership and learning opportunities. A council serves as the voice for an entire student body and actively works with teachers and advisors to promote a better learning environment.
  • This is an excellent critical self-reflection that can really help students measure the roles that best fit them or even identify personal weaknesses they would like to shore up.
  • In addition to boosting confidence, student councils improve communication skills. When a student chooses to run for student council, he or she must be able to speak publicly. Once elected, these individuals must also be comfortable speaking openly with other student officers — including problem-solving and accepting feedback.
  • Student councils promote a sense of personal responsibility among students. Students running for student council are taking on leadership roles on behalf of the entire student body — he or she must then promote and uphold the values of the entire student body.
