An informative and engaging workshop on Learning life skills - an easy way was organised by Art of Living for classes VII to VIII. The workshop was conducted by Mr Uday  Sharma, who educated the learners on how to tackle stress and keep calm in today’s challenging times. The interactive session included several interesting games as well as practical techniques to eliminate negative thoughts and to create heathy thought patterns. It was a fruitful session wherein the learners participated enthusiastically.

    Effective use of Time in Career Planning   

    Class XI students of Venkateshwar International School attended a very interesting workshop conducted by Mr Ritesh Jain from Pratham Education. The topic was very pertinent for class XI . It was based on : Effective use of time in Career Planning where students were guided about steps they should start taking in class XI if they aspire to join undergraduate courses abroad. The students asked lots of relevant questions , thereby impressing the resource person with their inquisitiveness.

      Wellbeing and Happiness Classes@VIS   

      A refreshing and energizing mindfulness session was organized for classes 1 and 2. It was aimed at engaging the children in simple mindfulness activities, breathing exercises and Yoga asanas, in line with a value embedded yoga story video. A kick start to Wellbeing and Happiness Week, the session was enjoyed thoroughly by our students and their families too!

        Subject Orientation and Online Quiz by Home Sc. Club   

        Home Science Club hosted a  Quiz  based on subject orientation for the new batch of class XI. Students of class XII (outgoing batch) briefed about the subject through a presentation. This was followed by a quiz.  The quiz consisted of 6 rounds through which 5 teams had to compete with each other. Each team comprised of 3-4 members.The students particiated enthusiastically that led to an enjoyable and meaningful event.

          In an attempt to provide enrichment, fun filled activities were organised as part of the ‘Enrichment & well-being Sessions’ for students. Students of class-VII observed WORLD BOOK DAY by displaying their love for books and reading. Activities such as designing book marks with inspirational quotes, book covers and book capsules were enthusiastically taken up by learners.

          Students of class-VI also displayed their creativity and innovation by making 3D cards to observe EARTH DAY. The colourful pop-ups and powerful depiction of ideas through art & craft by children helped in spreading awareness and sensitising everyone towards the need of preserving and protecting the planet.

            Webinar on resurgence of Covid-19   

            Scientia Society of the school organised an informative session on the second wave of Covid 19 which has taken the entire country by storm. The session was organised for the students of classes VI-XII. The session focussed on how the current wave is different from the first one in symptoms and spread, and what measures can be taken to contain this deadly trend.
            Students were acquainted with the concept of immunization and the ways to boost their immunity.

            Interactive myth or fact session  busted the misconceptions people have regarding  immunization and the spread of this disease. The importance of mental health during these difficult  times was also stressed upon and students were given tips on how to engage themselves constructively in these unprecedented times.

              New session, new beginnings……

              To apprise the parents with the system and transitions in class III, an Orientation Session was held on 10th April,2021. To begin with, our honorable principal, Dr. Manisha Sharma addressed the parents and talked about the ethos and culture of VIS. The headmistress, Primary Wing, Ms. Anuradha Kumar further gave an insight of the curricular and co- curricular framework. She also emphasized on the activity -based online teaching being followed by the dedicated teachers to work for the holistic development of every child. The parents were happy to be a part of the session and their queries were resolved. The session concluded with a formal introduction of the class teachers, subject teachers and activity teachers.

                VIS students of class XII had a session with students at Ulsan Foreign Language High School, Korea. The Korean students were at their school while the VIS students were at home. It was an interesting discussion on multiple topics ranging from studies to career options attended by about 50 members . The School head Dr. Manisha Sharma also attended the session to know about strategies employed  by Korean schools to cope up with lockdown . The Korean  students got to know a lot about India’s Lockdown and economy through presentations by Meyhar Dudeja and Ravneet Kaur of class XII . This was the first such webinar in this series .

                  VIS student wins at National Level   

                  We feel proud to share that Guransh Gambhir from class 2 has won National Champion Trophy & has secured National rank 5 in the 6th International Abacus Olympiad.
                  He has also won a Gold medal in 6th International Online Abacus Competition BRAINOBRAINFEST 2021
                  We wish him luck.

                    As rightly said, "Education is the key to unlocking the world, a passport to freedom." 

                    The newly promoted Class XII students of VIS attended an orientation session conducted by Ms. Jyotsna Bharadwaj. The session was titled Navigating Through Class XII Happily & Effectively. It served as food for thought for all the students. The salient points of discussion were stress & time-management, problems encountered while studying effectively, varied learning styles & methodologies, factors affecting academics, smart skills, memorization techniques many such skills which espouse efficient studying methods. The students participated enthusiastically in the session and were extremely benefited by this webinar.
