The Mathematics Club of VIS, ‘Anant: Infinite Minds Can Comprehend Infinity’ organized their Inaugral Meeting. In a bid to banish Mathphobia and unravel a newfangled, convivial yet edifying world of Mathematics. The Guest Of Honor for the momentous event was our bygone Senior Coordinator and HOD of Maths, Ms. Ruchika Chaudhary who is currently serving as the Vice Principal at Amrita Vidyalayam, went on to bestow us, her words of wisdom and an insight into myriads of experiences. She quoted that Maths is yet another language which needs to be understood and not learned, which needs to be applied and not  guzzled down the throat. 


The event was attended by over 160 students from Classes VI through XII, each one eager to spill their Pi-beans in Pi-THON, a three-tier event consisting of different and inventive competitions, all stationed on the Mathematical Gem, Pi. A 'Getting To Know Pi' hands-on workshop was conducted for the students of classes VI to VIII, while the senior students tested their retention at Pi-Recital. A Poster Making Competition was also in the running for the Art- Aficionados. The event was anchored by the Maths Department alongside the Founding Team of Anant, who also briefed the budding mathematicians about the disparate departments and errands in the club. All the events beheld enormous participation & sincere efforts.

    Observation of Anti Dengue Month(ADM)2021   

    In connection with the ANTI DENGUE MONTH, as a part of  Think Tank Congress ,students of class XI organised FIGHT THE BITE : VECTOR BORNE DISEASES AWARNESS WEEK. 
    Every year July is observed as Anti Dengue Month (ADM). The purpose is to intensify the preventive activities throughout the monsoon. 

    The awareness week included various activities for primary middle and senior wing students. The session gave students a deeper understanding of how vector borne pathogens enter the human host,  followed by brief description of protective measures and fun facts. After the session,  the students and teachers participated in an awareness poll to test the knowledge of VBDs. The main aim of the session was to sensitize the community for effective participation and ownership for prevention and control of Dengue/other vector borne diseases (VBDs) .

      The Commerce Society of Venkateshwar International School hosted a guest lecture by  eminent  economist, Dr. Bibek Debroy, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. Dr Debroy has been a member of the NITI Aayog . He has authored several books, papers and popular articles and has also been a Consulting Editor with several newspapers. He addressed the enthusiasts of VIS on “India in 2047” from an economic perspective. He talked about how India has progressed in the last 100 years and how the factors of production; land, labour  and capital have changed in various aspects over the years. He also  encouraged the future leaders of India to be pro-active and work hard to build a better economy for the country . Dr Manisha Sharma, respected Principal , Venkateshwar International School welcomed Dr Debroy and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Commerce Society to Dr Debroy for taking out the time to apprise the students. Under the guidance of Sr. Economics teacher, Ms Rashi Jain Bhatia, the event was led by students, Priyal Jain  and Harshbir Singh Ahuja (Presidents, The Commerce Society) and Ruhin Aggarwal. The event was a great success and the students, as well as the faculty members, took back a lot from the session.
