Indian festivals are known for their vibrant colours, delicious food, and joyous celebrations. To showcase the rich cultural heritage of India, Grade 1 students organized a class presentation on Indian festivals through various dance forms. ‘Ullaas’ was presented on 14th March 2023 and 18th March 2023 in the school auditorium. The presentation started with auspicious lamp lighting by our distinguished chief guests Dr. Saroj Vyas - Principal Director - Fairfield Institute on 14th March 2023 and Dr. Venita Kaul, Professor at Ambedkar University Delhi, on 18th March 2023 accompanied by our honourable Principal Ma’am Dr. Manisha Sharma and honourable H.M Foundational Years Ms. Sanjum Sethi. The programme began with a brief introduction to Indian festivals. The students explained their cultural and social significance and also shared interesting facts about each festival. The students then proceeded to showcase various festivals through dance performances. The little ones were dressed in vibrant and colourful costumes that added to the overall appeal of the presentation. It was a visual extravaganza. ‘Ullaas’ was not only a visual treat but also a learning experience for everyone present. It showcased the rich cultural heritage of India and the significance of festivals in bringing people together, leaving the audience spellbound. Such presentations go a long way in promoting cultural diversity and understanding among people. We keep striving to inculcate lifelong values in our students through such initiatives.
