Shark Tank@VIS

Venkateshwar International School organised “Shark Tank” competition in which the students were allowed to step into the shoes of an entrepreneur and think about innovative solutions to prevailing problems. This helped boost the entrepreneurial spirit and further expanded their knowledge in start-ups and their working. Mr Gaurav Palia (PGT commerce, DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave) graced the occasion and appreciated the creativity and innovative ideas of all the participating teams. Results are as follows:

    In continuation of cross border  cultural exchanges, VIS students had the first online session of the academic year with students of Ulsan School of Foreign Language, Korea. The topic for discussion this time was culture . The Korean students spoke about their food and architecture, whereas we discussed about how we are using technology to protect our culture. After this heavy discussion, students  were divided into break out rooms to chat in smaller groups about topics of common interest. The highlight was a song session by VIS students which was greatly enjoyed by their Korean counterparts. It was a great session that brought students together!

      Meeting of the Reader’s crew club

      Members of the Reader’s crew club from classes III to X gathered for their first meeting of this session. Readers actively participated in this endeavour. The book presentation session was phenomenal. Readers prepared their presentations with title pages , character roles ,content narration along with enactment with props. 
      It was a delight to watch all the favourite fictional characters come to life. The session concluded with Senior Head mistress Mrs Nishu Pandey addressing the members and sharing her reading interests and her journey as a reader.

        Pictures do tell stories

        The VIS photography club THE PERFECT SHOT had its maiden presentation in the month of May. The event was inaugurated by the Principal Dr Manisha Sharma, The event was conceptualised by Senior HM, Ms. Nishu Pandey and successfully conducted by Mr Abhinav, mentor photography club. Students displayed their photography skills. Each photograph depicted a story that gave a creative insight into the photograph as seen by the photographer. Students enjoyed thoroughly and learnt a lot .

          REACH FOR A RAINBOW: A workshop on Inclusion and Diversity

          WEvolve club organized a special Inclusion awareness drive along with a workshop on Inclusion for class 6 students mentored by our school counselor Ms. Shruti Pandey and special educator Ms. Shailja Sharma.
          Our students enjoyed fun activities conducted by senior students of grade 12 in their classroom. This was followed by a workshop conducted on 19th May, 2022. The workshop aimed to spread awareness on resolving issues related to inclusion in classrooms and embracing differences of one another. Senior students’ core team presented an interactive role play to depict how exclusion can affect our mental wellbeing. The workshop was concluded with a discussion on acknowledging the range of differences in the classroom and beyond.

            WEvolve: Mending Mindsets

            WEvolve: Mending Mindsets, a program initiated under the psychology club of VIS with the vision of providing preventive as well as curative measures to the school community at large, conducted a Social Skills Training session for grade III in the month of May, wherein our Special Educator, Ms.Shailja Sharma focused on various aspects of social skills and the need for having good social skills. She highlighted many important social skills such as Sharing, Turn-taking, Teamwork, Listening skills, Personal space, etc.
            The session was well supported by animated videos and activities to enhance the understanding of the students.
            It was an enriching experience for the instructor and the students alike.

              Craft Making Activity

              VIS ARTIFICIUM,the official Art club of VIS, organised a craft making activity based on Mandala Art for the students of classes IV-V, VI-VIII and IX ,where they made personalized gifts like phone cases, mugs and cards. Students had a wonderful time!

                Educating the underprivileged - Initiative by Daaiytva Club

                The Daaiytva Club of Venkateshwar International School has taken the initiative to educate the under-privileged children from government schools under the project ‘Vidyashree: Each One Teach One’ to make their dreams come true. Education, as we all know, is the key to all doors in life. Hence, proper education would not only benefit these children in the future, but also their families. The students of VIS are selflessly giving online classes to these young stars to make them glow brighter. VIS has now the joined the list of the kind souls helping these children to attain good values, respectable positions, and heads held high in their lives Here’s one to all those working for their betterment. We wish these little geniuses and educators a very good luck!

                  Awareness Campaign@VIS

                  A workshop was organised for the students of class III on the topic Poisoning Awareness. Doctor Swati Sharma, a scientist in the Department of Pharmacology ,AIIMS, Delhi apprised the students on how to stay safe from toxic things  . It was a fun-filled interactive workshop. The session helped to create awareness about common poisonous household products. Knowledge of poison prevention measures that can be practised to reduce the risk of accidental poisonings was also discussed. All the students participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the session.

                    Inter-House Maths Doodling Competition

                    An Inter-House Maths Doodling Competition was held for classes IX - X.The event was judged by HOD Maths Ms. Mamta Rana.The students unleashed their creativity and presented Mathematical concepts through Doodling .
