        ‘Chintan’ – A Principals’ Forum

        NEW
On the 25th April, 2015, Venkateshwar International School, Sector10, Dwarka witnessed an august gathering of intelligentsia from the field of education. Directors, Principals and Headmistresses from more than fifty coveted schools of the capital shared a common platform with distinguished speakers – BK Sister Shivani Verma, a prominent practitioner of Rajyoga meditation associated with Brahma Kumar is World Spiritual University renowned in India and abroad and Dr. Sujatha D Sharma a renowned Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Consultant to the Govt. of India and a noteworthy author.
As the title exemplifies ‘Chintan’ is a forum with the prime purpose to create ripples of deep introspection amongst minds of people poised at positions wherein they are the seeds who can execute genuine positive changes in the teaching learning community.  In her welcoming address the Director, VIS, Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura introduced the listeners to the concept of a ‘Happy School’ envisioned as a stress free and sensitive environment for students.
BK Sister Shivani whose very persona radiates deep spiritual insight, spoke on ‘The Leader’s Role of giving students a learning and sensitive Environment’. She gave the magic mantra of cultivating compassion in preference to competition in order to create a harmonious atmosphere. She emphasized that anger management is the key to create an amicable school environment. Dr. Sujatha Sharma picked up this thread of connect where Sister Shivani left. She emphasized that in any organization; conflicts may arise, but if not dealt with, in time may cause loss of time, energy, productivity and positivity. Conflicts can be resolved by a collaborative, negotiative and empathetic attitude towards a person or situation. Many divergent rays of ideas and possibilities were suggested which could converge on a focal point of action, the result of which would be a conducive environment enabling the full blossoming of a child’s innate capabilities.
Chintan is a brain-child of Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura, Director, VIS wherein series of workshops have been planned for Principals and teachers throughout the year. Under her able guidance the entire event, right from its inception to execution was in sync with the impeccable organization and systematic approach which is a bench mark of VIS, Sector-10. The Principal, Mrs Novita Chopra presented the vote of thanks and highlighted on the fact that the treasure of ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Margdarshan’ acquired by everyone present today will even make Bill Gates less wealthy.

He talked about the peer pressure and the ‘gateway’ drug that eventually turns a person into an addict. The workshop was extremely informative and enlightening. It enlisted a lot of famous personalities who cure drug addicts and had become successful only because they could quit and say ‘No’ to drugs. Students listened with complete attention as they could connect with Dr. Rajiv quite effectively. The workshop was highly interactive and successful.
