A Memorable Feat
Recently on 21st November 2014 a team of two debaters Subarna Bagchi XI Daisydale and Satwadhi Das XI Springdale participated in the final round of Ramjas Inter School Debate 2014 at FICCI Auditorium. We are proud to share that the VIS team qualified for the final round out of 57 teams of Delhi and NCR. In the final round only 8 teams participated and Subarna Bagchi did the school proud by bagging the  Second Runners up trophy  and winning a cash prize of Rs. 1000/-. Ms. Sangita Nair (HOD Hindi Department) was also awarded for writing the ‘Best Thought’ during the proceedings of the event. Kudos to the winners and their mentors Ms. Vandana Dubey (HOD English Department) and Ms. Anita Rampal. We wish them more such laurels in times to come.

    Career in the Defense Forces
    Shubham Rarh who is also an alumni of Venkateshwar International School gave an enlightening talk on career possibilities in the Indian Defense Services. He explained the benefits of joining the armed forces through clippings and PowerPoint presentation. He also explained that both science as well as non-science streams are eligible. The defense forces focus on observing strict discipline as a basic norm to serve. He apprised the students of class XI of different phases in which one could enter the defense forces like NDA, SSB, and Technical etc. Overall it was an invigorating workshop and motivated the students and cleared many aspects related to the Defense Services.

      Laurels all the way
      VIS participated in ‘Panache’ the Annual Interschool fest organized by Pragati Public School, Sector-13 Dwarka on 5 December’ 2014. A total of 20 schools participated in a number of competitions organized during the fest.
      VIS secured III position in ‘Lets get creative’ (Paper bag designing). The prize was won by Shivika Kohli and Apoorva Singh (Topic – Women: A multitasking personality). Followed by II position in ‘Dress designing’ secured by Aarushi Malhotra, Ananya Singh, Aaryaman Chopra and Shubham Bhatia. (Topic – Condition of Women in Modern Society).We also won II position in ‘Street Play’, secured by talented students of class IX-X. These active participants were Manuj Kathuria, Aprajita Bagchi, Vidhi Bhutani, Aishwarya Nangia, Garvit Ahuja, Aadya Aggarwal, Agrima Sharma, Muskan Sehgal, Tushar Singh, Kushagra Dudeja, Aditi Dandriyal and Lavanya Nangyal.         Conserve My Planet
        Our school participated in the ‘Conserve My Planet’ programme which was sponsored by ‘Sharp’ an NGO in collaboration with ‘Schneider Electric India’. They conducted various activities in our school in which there were 100 green ambassadors.  Finally the ‘Green Championship’ was held and Advita Bhatia of class VII HT was adjudged the ‘Green Champion’. She represented the school in the Zonal Green Championship wherein she displayed a model on conservation of energy. Out of 10 finalists from all over Delhi, Advita bagged the First position and was declared the “Energy Icon’. Our school was given the Best School Award.

          Forging A Benchmark in Serving Humanity
          On 20th November 2014 Venkateshwar International School was felicitated with the “AF’s Excellence Award” under the category of “Holisitic Development of Angels of Humanity” by Dr.  C. P. Thakur, Padma Shree, Member of Rajya Sabha and Dr. Bhure Lal for the schools achievements and contribution to save Mother Earth for consecutive three years.

            A workshop was conducted by Mr. Premchand Palety, Chief Executive of C fore on 1st December 2014 on Effective Teaching Learning Techniques. The teachers acquired a deep insight on the various techniques which could be adopted in order to impart effective teaching. Mr. Palety ushered an array of activities like Circle Time, Collaborative Learning, Experiential Learning, Team Teaching etc. Such activities will make the Pedagogy more productive. They will aid in kindling interest in research.
