The leadership camp for senior wing was held on 23rd April 2016.  There were an array of activities performed by the aspiring leaders who displayed their mettle.  The leadership camp is a precursor to selections for the Student Council.  The participants inched towards their goal assiduously by testing themselves in GK, various team building games, as technocrats and expressing their concerns on vital issues etc.  The camp was a great success where every aspiring leader was given a platform to exhibit his/ her innate talents.

    Baisakhi - Primary Wing

    A special assembly on Baisakhi was conducted by the students of class V SD on 13 April 2016.  It highlighted the importance of Baisakhi festival which is celebrated as the Sikh New Year and is the foundation of the Khalsa Panth.  The students depicted the story of ‘Panj Pyare’ and also gave information about the Baisakhi Celebration in different states of our country.
    The assembly culminated with a vibrant dance number followed by the address of the Head Mistress (Primary Wing) who enlightened them about the importance of celebrating festivals as a precursor to social and family bonding.

      An Orientation programme was conducted on 16th April 2016 in the School Auditorium to welcome the new parents’ fraternity of class I students.  The school’s Director and Founder Principal, Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura delivered the Orientation address to acclimatize the parents with the school system.  The parents got an insight into the activity based teaching methodology adopted by the school through the activities conducted by the Headmistress Primary Wing, Mrs. Anuradha Kumar and her team of teachers.  The joie-de-vivre of the audience was apparent from the active participation by the parents.

        Ramnavmi And Baisakhi Assembly
        A morning assembly that marked the celebrating of Ramnavmi and Baisakhi was held on 12 April 2016.  The aesthetically presented skit extolled the virtues and values of the life and times of Lord Rama.  A traditional Punjabi folk dance was performed by young dancers to welcome the Baisakhi season.

          India Australia Bridge Project

          In continuation with the ongoing India Australia Bridge School Partnership Project, an initiative to strengthen educational ties between both the countries, a meeting was held in Blue Bells International School, Kailash colony.  The event saw Mr. Andrew Robb, MP, Special Envoy for Trade and Mr. Adam Gilchrist, former Cricketer and Australia’s Education Ambassador to India speak about the wonders which education can bring in the lives of the people and help in their upliftment.  They interacted with the BRIDGE teachers and found out about the projects scheduled for the year.  The budding sports persons of VIS had an interactive session with Adam Gilchrist, former Australian Cricketer and Education Ambassador of Australia to India.  The session took place in the Australian High Commission.  It was a very motivating experience.  He also apprised them of new career avenues in physical education in Australian Universities, like sports Journalism, Physiotherapy, Facility Management, Sports Nutritionist and Communication Media.

            Conquest Quiz

            In the Conquest Quiz organised by Britannia in which more than one thousand students all over India had participated, two students of VIS namely Saanvi Puri (VI HT) and Rachit Gupta (X HT) secured the All India 6th and 7th positions respectively.  They were awarded with the ‘All India Winner’ Trophy, a merit certificate and gift.
