Under the umbrella of CHINTAN – brain child of Ms. Mrinalini Kaura, Director (Academics), the school organised a workshop for Headmistresses and teachers of Prestigious Delhi schools on 20th February 2016.
Ms. Sudha Aacharya, Principal ITL Public School, Dwarka was the resource person for conducting an engaging session on ‘Inclusive Education’ which focused on ensuring equal rights for all students so as to benefit them by changing the school set up accordingly.  The interaction shed light on the prerequisites of an ‘Inclusive classroom’ such as flexibility, accommodation, equalization of opportunities, Informal support and orientation of mainstream teachers and child centered learning, in a natural environment.
The participants were empowered with tools and techniques to implement the suggestions, effectively.  As a follow up, the audience was segregated into groups to enact various real-life classroom situations; design advertisements and compose poems and jingles to create awareness.  The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks presented by the Principal, Ms. Novita Chopra.  The participants also expressed their gratitude and privilege to be a part of such an enlightening and thought provoking conference.

    On 17th February 2016 the students of classes IX, X were delighted to be addressed by the Vice President of Sector – 13 ISKCON temple.  The topics of the discourse were varied from how to beat stress during examinations, belief in karma, time management to faith in the existence of God.   The students were able to relate to him and responded extremely well in the question answer round afterwards.  Swamiji gave them valuable tips to enhance their performance in exams.

      INDO-CANADIAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
      A group of thirteen students and four teachers from Canada visited VIS on 17th February 2016, under Indo-Canadian Cultural Exchange Programme.  A team from VGS Rohini was also present for the same occasion.
      A traditional welcome was given to the guests.  After having some snacks, the dignitaties gathered in the school auditorium.  Here presentations on the diversity of India and the glorious journey of VIS were showcased.  This was followed by an interactive session of class VIII students with the visiting dignitaries. The Canadians had a lot to share about their visit to Agra and the warm hospitality of the host families.  In the evening the dignitaries visited Kingdom of Dreams.  Ms. Sarita Thakral and six students of VIS Sector – 10 namely Aditya Rathore X DD, Devansh Vij X LD, Vriti Sehgal X HT, Muskaan Malik X DD, Khushi Malhotra X DD and Drishti Jain X RV participated in the cultural exchange programme.
