On 27th November 2015, Times NIE organised a workshop on ‘Teachers’ Rejuvenation’ techniques.  The resource person Mr. Sanjeev Datta demonstrated and explained various effective ways to engage students productivity and enrich the class environment.  He also elaborated the relaxation and meditation techniques which can help teachers to reduce stress level through theatrics and speech practices.

    On 21 November, 2015 Adarsh Public School, Vikas Puri held its 75th Smt. Gyan Devi Memorial Inter-School Debate in which our gifted student Subarna Bagchi of class XII Daisydale was awarded the ‘Best Speaker Award’ against the motion and cash prize of Rs.1500/-.  The house debated on the motion ‘Comparison Augments Growth’.  Kudos to the proud achiever.

      Gurpurab Assembly

      Gurpurab, a festival which marks the birthday of Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion, was celebrated as a colourful assembly by the students of the middle wing.  It began with the soulful rendition of ‘Shabad’ which reflect the teachings of the Gurus.  This was followed by the expounding of the tenets of Sikhism and it message to the world.  A mesmerizing dance performance by senior wing students held everyone captivated.  The Principal, Mrs. Novita Chopra addressed the assembly and highlighted the importance of celebrating Indian festivals to enable the awareness and imbibing of secular values amongst students.  The programme culminated with the distribution of Kada Prasad.

        On 21st November the Senior wing and Middle wing bid a warm farewell to Mrs. Preeti Katyal – PGT (Computer Science) and Mamta Tiwari TGT (Science) who were leaving the fold of VIS under unavoidable circumstances to accept their callings elsewhere.  A medley of soulful farewell songs was presented by the teachers after the Director, Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura facilitated them with parting gifts.  This was followed by farewell speeches by Principal, Vice Principal and HM’s and the parting teachers were wished good luck for their future ventures.

          Road Safety Campaign at Pragati Maidan

          On 18th of November,2015 DelhiTrafffic Police organized a “Road Safety Campaign” to create awareness regarding road safety among the people which included various activities like road safety awareness skit and painting competition.  The campaign was held at Trade Fair, Pragati Maidan. 35 exuberant students of Venkateshwar international school sector -10 Dwarka took part enthusiastically in the competition which served as an excellent purpose of spreading awareness. Our school took part in painting competition and presented a street play on road safety which was appreciated by the top official of Delhi Police. The skit performed by our school was a brilliant attempt to create awareness about various rules and norms related to road safety which are often not followed by people. Students were given certificates and gift hampers for their exuberant work.

              Keeping up with the festive spirit, an assembly on Diwali was presented by the students of Class II to V.  A small skit was presented depicting the life of Lord Rama followed by a foot tapping dance.  Principal ma’am enlightened the students with a short speech on pollution and need to celebrate cracker free Diwali.  The students also pledged to go for a eco-friendly Diwali.  The students were also encouraged to share their old things with the poor and needy people.

                On 7th November 2015, Venkateshwar International School, Sector-10 Dwarka honoured its promising achievers and performers in a momentous Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. The event commenced with lighting the ceremonial lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest ‘Ms. Bhaswati Mukherjee’, former Indian Ambassador to Netherlands, honorable Chairman Shri Rajpal, respected Director Ms. Mrinalini Kaura, Vice Chairman Mr. Kamal Solanki and Principal Ms. Novita Chopra. After according the floral welcome to the Chief Guest, the School’s newsletter ‘DIALOGUE’ was released which covered the eventful happenings of the present session. After the melodious rendition of the patriotic Sanskrit song, ‘Matribhumi Vandana’, the school’s annual report was presented by the school Director and Founder Principal Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura, which highlighted the remarkable achievements in various spheres.

                The Felicitation Ceremony was divided into two segments. In the first segment, the meritorious students who proved their mettle in the academic and cultural arena were awarded. The second segment of ceremony awarded the gifted players who made the school proud by their incredible achievements at National and International level sports competitions. The mesmerising Manipuri dancers truly overwhelmed the audience. The main highlight of the event was the play Julius Caesar which was adapted, directed and choreographed by the school’s creative team as it was our in-house production.  It was staged live and students’ performance was applauded by one and all. The event culminated with the National Anthem and the vote of thanks proposed by the School Principal, Ms. Novita Chopra.  The event was a grand success.

                  Rangoli Making

                  On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the students of Home Science of class XI Rockview & Hilltop came together to ensure that the school was adorned in a spectrum of colours by exhibiting their creative skill in Rangoli Making. With bags full of colours and flowers, diyas and candles ready, they commenced their Rangoli Making following their innovative instinct. Two hours and several touch-ups later, group of students with happy faces stared lovingly at their masterpieces that sprawled vibrantly on the floor. Post all the hardwork, they posed and grinned to get captured with their Rangolis. Principal Ma’am and Vice Principal Ma’am made their gracious presence and were enthralled by the creative attempt of the students, which made the students gleam in their glorious appreciation.
